CLASSES

Sno-King holds classes on Thursdays and Saturdays at French Creek Pet Resort in Snohomish. Our classes are very popular and successful, with our students competing with the best in all venues of agility. Instructor education is high on our priority list – the club subsidizes seminars and workshops.

As a service to the sport, we hold workshops for “First Timers” and to teach trial skills like course building and other key trial positions. We continue to be innovative and positive in our approach to training and to trial organization, and we encourage anyone who lives in our general area to join Sno-King and participate to whatever extent they are willing and able.

Our Instructors Are Experienced

Sno-King instructors have many years of experience competing and training dog agility. Before becoming an instructor, they are required to complete an agility title on at least one dog and to have successfully assisted in one or more class sessions at the level they are going to teach.

All of our instructors are currently competing with their dog(s) in one or more of the organizations that hold trials in our area. They are familiar with the rules and nuances of the various organizations and can help prepare you and your dog to compete. We do not advocate one agility venue over another; our instructors are happy to help our students prepare for whatever type of agility they wish to participate in.

Winnie Simon

EXPERIENCED

Winnie Simon began her agility adventures in 2002 with her Schipperke Zoie, who earned AKC Excellent level titles. Her current agility partner is Carmon, a PekaPom.

KNOWLEDGEABLE

Winnie has attended many handling clinics over the years, and began teaching as a substitute for a local instructor before starting her own classes at her Lake Stevens home, which she ran from 2014 to 2018.

Gary Webster

CLUB MEMBER

A member of the Sno-King Agility Club since 2015, Gary has served as Club Treasurer, Board Member and President. He has honed his skills through club classes and even substituted as an instructor on occasion.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Gary actively promotes dog sports by participating in the club's agility demonstrations at dog events around the Puget Sound. He has also generously shared his expertise by judging agility for Snohomish 4-H at the Fair.

VERSATILE DOG TRAINER

Gary's passion extends beyond agility and scent work. He has competed with his Collies in various disciplines, including Barn Hunt, Rally, Obedience, Herding, and Conformation. Additionally, he has enriched the lives of others by participating in therapy dog visits to schools, nursing homes, and Meet the Breeds events with his Certified Therapy dog, Benny.

ENTHUSIASTIC BEGINNER INSTRUCTOR

Gary particularly enjoys working with beginner students and their pups, helping them build a strong foundation in agility and scent work skills.

Janet Bredl

EXPERIENCED

I have been an agility student continuously from 2001 to the present.  I have had instruction from five+ incredibly skilled and progressive instructors in that time, and I feel that it is important to continue to build my skills.  I have competed with Papillons, Briards, Shelties, and Spaniels.  My current teammate is an English Cocker Spaniel named Claire.

KNOWLEDGEABLE

Before coming to SnoKing, I had seven years of experience teaching all aspects of agility, with a focus on handling skills.  My hallmark characteristics as an instructor are patience and positivity!  I want my students to be successful and grow their skills, to give clear and fair signals to their dog, and to be prepared to compete if they wish.

Testimonials

“Winnie has been doing an amazing job working with everyone in class, we’ve seen a marked improvement in our performance in the last year. Sebastian and I were just telling her that there’s been a significant improvement in our classmates as well. We’ve really been enjoying all the drills and time she spends working with us to improve our handling. Just thought you should know, we really, REALLY appreciate her!”
